For our International Customers

Due to the complex nature of shipping live plants around the world, we are unable to process international orders online. This restriction also applies to our friends in Guam, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Please contact us via email, fax or phone and we will be happy to work with you.

Thank you for your interest in Oglesby's products. For over 30 years we have enjoyed working with international growers wherever they may be. Over the years we have gained extensive experience in shipping live plants around the globe and we apply that experience to every order, especially your order. The following information is provided to help you understand the procedures necessary to purchase laboratory and/or greenhouse products. These procedures have proven very successful in servicing growers world-wide.

All inquiries (e-mail, faxes, letters and calls) for laboratory stage II and stage III products or greenhouse grown young plants will be answered promptly and as accurately as possible. Please understand that pending plant variety, stage and quantity requested, payment (including freight expenses) will be required prior to order processing 45 to 60 days before shipment. Please email or fax your import permit (if required) well ahead of the designated shipping time.

IMPORTANT: If an Import Permit is required for your country, it must be submitted to us in English or be accompanied by an official English translation. International shipments of live plants can require a significant amount of documentation such as Import permits, Phytosanitary Certificates, Additional Declarations, CITES certificates and numerous shipping documents. Please understand, we do not write the rules but we do follow them to the letter.

Due to varied laboratory cut cycles, changing availabilities and unexpected production adjustments, your inquiry can best be answered if the following information is provided:

  • Your companies name, billing and shipping address, voice and fax phone numbers and e-mail address if available. Please specify a main and alternate contact person.

  • Clearly state variety, quantity and stage of material desired. Minimum order quantities vary depending on plant variety: 900 to 1,200 for stage II or stage III laboratory microcuttings and two (2) trays for our greenhouse grown young plants. Less than minimum quantity orders are subject to a 15% surcharge. Please note that due to the possibility of air-borne contamination occurring during transit, we do not accept responsibility for quarantine rejection of Stage III products.

  • Please specify your nearest port of entry. We will have all shipping arrangements made by our freight forwarder unless you specify another agent. We highly recommend our agent since they are very familiar with the necessary requirements for expediting plants. However, if you have a business relationship with other agents we will be happy to work with them. We will make every effort to send your entire order in one shipment to minimize freight expenses but due to the nature of our products, multiple shipments may be necessary. You will be notified in advance if two or more shipments are needed to fill your order.

Unless credit has been established, your order will be represented by an order acknowledgement – which reflects your order request and provides a required non-refundable 25% deposit and deposit due date. Upon receipt of the deposit your order will be confirmed with a proforma invoice which will reflect shipping date, payment due date and directions for payment (wire transfer, credit card, or check drawn on United States bank). Product availability is held and orders are confirmed provided payment is received by the payment performance date. Careful attention should be given to wire transfer directions as any deviations often create unnecessary delays. In some cases up to seven (7) working days are needed to complete a payment transfers.

Please review our Terms and Conditions for additional information.

The above procedures may sound complicated but we promise to make each step simple and easy for you. We look forward to working with you.
